Stripe will reportedly acquire AI gateway startup OpenRouter for $7B+
Stripe has finalized a deal to acquire OpenRouter, the AI model gateway startup, for more than $7 billion, per Bloomberg. OpenRouter, which raised a $113M Series B at a $1.3B valuation in May 2026, claims 8 million users and access to 400+ models. The deal marks one of the largest AI infrastructure acquisitions to date, consolidating API access to the fragmented model ecosystem under Stripe's payments infrastructure.
